Nine-month old Daisja Weaver’s father charged with murdering her

Nine-month old Daisja Weaver’s father, 20-year-old Alandus Weaver of Dallas, has now been charged with murdering her.

He’s the man who told police that he tied a sandbag to her leg after “accidentally” killing her and then tossed her body off a bridge and into Lake Lewisville to cover up his crime. Police divers spent several days unsuccessfully trying to recover the body.

Police said last night that he will now face a charge of capital murder in the little girl’s June 8 death, since the baby’s 19-year-old mother, Tamaira Creagh, has provided more details.

Still no body has been found, but police and the Denton County DA’s office say they believe they have enough circumstantial evidence to proceed.

Click here to read the Dallas Morning News story detailing what the couple did after the baby’s death. Be careful, it’s rather gruesome and disgusting.

Creagh is currently six month’s pregnant with their second child. She claims that after she learned their little girl was dead that she was afraid to tell anyone what had happened immediately because Weaver had threatened her not to talk.

Considering how many versions of the story that this couple has told, it’s all a confusing mess.

I have to wonder what kind of life Alandus Weaver has had and what’s he endured to have committed such an atrocious crime.

Also wonder how and why the baby’s mother became involved with him.

Does anybody know?

Police suspend search for 9-month old in Lake Lewisville

June 18, 2009 · 1 Comment

Anybody know where little Daisja Weaver is? According to news reports, she is still missing. Here’s the story:

The search was suspended yesterday afternoon for 9-month-old Daisja Weaver, whose dead body was thrown by the baby’s father into Lake Lewisville last week according to the mother, Dallas police said today.

Lewisville Fire Department divers have searched the location provided by the child’s mother despite the poor visibility underwater and treacherous lake conditions, but found nothing, Dallas police Senior Cpl. Kevin Janse said.

The investigation continues into the child’s disappearance and a $15,000 reward remains in effect, Janse said.

The search for the baby started last week after her mother Tamaira Creagh, 19, reported that her daughter had been kidnapped from their Far North Dallas apartment.

According to police, the parents had provided conflicting reports surrounding the infant’s disappearance.

Creagh later told authorities that she had found her daughter’s body in their apartment on June 8  and that the baby’s father Alandus Weaver, 20, made her drive to the lake.

Weaver, 20, is accused of tossing his dead daughter’s body to a sandbag and tossing her body from the bridge.

Weaver and Creagh have been arrested on charges of tampering with evidence.

In a written statement, Creagh’s attorneys said  that their client is the victim of long-term domestic abuse by Weaver.

She is six months pregnant with Weaver’s child and was forced to participate in the cover-up, the attorneys said.

Infant’s body dumped in Lake Lewisville by parents?

June 17, 2009 · 1 Comment

Here’s a disgusting story in the Dallas Morning News about a young couple who might have thrown their dead baby’s body attached to a sandbag into Lake Lewisville to cover up the nine-month-old’s murder last week.

Police were at the lake June 15 searching for the remains of Daisja Weaver, whose mother, 19-year-old Tamaira Creagh, claims were thrown into the lake by the father, 20-year-old Alandus Weaver.

But the mother has changed her story several times, from an alleged break in and sexual assault to claiming that she so feared Weaver that she didn’t tell anyone.

The mother reported the baby missing to police last Tuesday.

It will be interesting to learn what really happened.

Apparently the baby is dead, bless her little soul.

Investigators are now working to sort out the facts in the case while continuing to search for the missing girl.

Family members told NBC5 News in Dallas that the baby, who was born premature, is physically challenged.

The child’s mother was taken to the hospital for minor injuries last Tuesday night and was later released.

Anybody know more details?
