Working on CPS story with Dallas Morning News reporter Brooks Egerton

Did an interview with Dallas Morning News investigative reporter Brooks Egerton yesterday, assisting the Dallas mom who is fighting to get physical custody of her three young daughters after her ex-husband forced their eight and nine-year-olds to watch XXX porn with him a while back.

CPS in Lubbock and Dallas almost blew this case, too, just as they have done recently with many other cases, which Brooks has been writing about.

We’re starting to campaign to get this stupid Texas law changed that allows a parent, guardian or spouse to display porn to their children.  We recently met with TX Attorney General Greg Abbott and TX State Senator Bob Deuell who will help us change that law.

We became involved in this when the mom requested help on Craigslist and one of our network of survivors forwarded the request to us. She couldn’t seem to get help from anyone, including CPS.

So far, she’s regained temporary custody, and expects to win permanent physical custody next year in court.

CPS in Lubbock almost threw this case out, plus communcations problems between a Dallas Police detective and CPS at the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center almost caused her to lose CPS support.
