Rihanna finally broke her silence about her relationship with Chris Brown on Good Morning America with Diane Sawyer yesterday morning.

She admitted that she was terribly embarrassed after being beaten so badly by Chris Brown – even though she wasn’t at fault – and she went back to Chris at first because she loved him so much and just wanted to forget it.

But when she realized that going back to Chris could result in other young girls going back to their abusers and getting killed or harmed, she decided she had to end her relationship with him.

She admitted feeling ashamed for falling in love with such an abusive person.

“Don’t react off of love,” she counseled others.  ”Act love.”

“Come out of the situation and look at it third person for what it really is and then make your decision; because love is so blind.”

Rihanna breaks her silence about being beaten up by Chris Brown and talks about the issue of domestic violence in the new issue of Glamour magazine.

The most important question and answer is: 

Glamour: If you could offer a message to the millions of young women who look up to you, what would you tell someone who found herself in a similar situation?

Rihanna: Domestic violence is a big secret. No kid goes around and lets people know their parents fight. Teenage girls can’t tell their parents that their boyfriend beat them up. You don’t dare let your neighbor know that you fight. It’s one of the things we [women] will hide, because it’s embarrassing. My story was broadcast all over the world for people to see, and they have followed every step of my recovery. The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that. I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard. Now I can help speak for those women. 

Nothing else is really said about her and Chris. Just more about her career.

Chris Brown’s new “Fan Appreciation” tour is not selling out as promoters had hoped.

In this NY Daily News report, industry execs say that only about half of the tickets available have sold thus far between his Houston Nov. 14 performance through Dec. 15 in NY City. 

Brown’s agent blames low ticket sales on the economy but others  believe it’s because Brown has lost so many fans.

So do I.

 The Dallas Morning News reported today that an Anna woman has been convicted of sexual assault involving her daughter even though she was never accused of molesting the child.

A Collin County jury found Michelle Lynn Smith guilty of three counts of aggravated sexual assault because she allowed her husband to repeatedly abuse the preschool child, said Crystal Levonius, lead prosecutor in the case.

When Smith married Glen Bracy in 2002 she knew he was a registered sex offender on probation after serving five years for indecency with a child.

Why would a woman do such a thing?

She must have had incredibly low self-esteem to begin with.

Thank goodness the little girl had the courage to speak out, to finally obtain protection for herself and her little sister.

Many women who allow their children to be abused are scared to death of their husbands or boyfriends and what he’ll do if she speaks out. But in this case the prosecutor said she knew what was happening.

Some women have such low self-esteem and are so co-dependent that they will allow their men to do virtually anything in order to stay with them.

Have to wonder about Smith’s upbringing. How did she ever become this way? Could she have been sexually abused herself?

The NY Daily News reported Wed, that a woman who killed her father two years ago after he had raped her repeatedly since she was three years old, plus other little girls in Africa, was convicted of manslaughter but not murder.

She told the court that after she learned he planned to take his granddaughters to Africa, she decided she could not let him do the same to them.

So she lured him two years ago to a chair, tied him up, gagged him with a towel and then cut off and cooked his penis so it could never be reattached!

She said she didn’t mean to kill him, just stop him from harming anyone else. Eric Goodridge suffocated and died from the towel in his mouth.

Brigitte Harris, 29, faces five to 15 years in prison, but her attorney said they received a good verdict and that she will probably just receive credit for time served and be released to receive counseling.

Harris said she wishes now she would have spoken out to someone other than her family but didn’t think anyone would believe her.

So many young women have been molested by fathers, step-fathers and others and yet so many family members refuse to believe them.

Speak out children and young women. We’ll listen!
