The Dallas Morning News reported today that an Anna woman has been convicted of sexual assault involving her daughter even though she was never accused of molesting the child.
A Collin County jury found Michelle Lynn Smith guilty of three counts of aggravated sexual assault because she allowed her husband to repeatedly abuse the preschool child, said Crystal Levonius, lead prosecutor in the case.
When Smith married Glen Bracy in 2002 she knew he was a registered sex offender on probation after serving five years for indecency with a child.
Why would a woman do such a thing?
She must have had incredibly low self-esteem to begin with.
Thank goodness the little girl had the courage to speak out, to finally obtain protection for herself and her little sister.
Many women who allow their children to be abused are scared to death of their husbands or boyfriends and what he’ll do if she speaks out. But in this case the prosecutor said she knew what was happening.
Some women have such low self-esteem and are so co-dependent that they will allow their men to do virtually anything in order to stay with them.
Have to wonder about Smith’s upbringing. How did she ever become this way? Could she have been sexually abused herself?
